Rural Inns in Al-Baha Combine Natural Beauty and Historical Charm
The Al-Baha region is rich in historical villages and stone houses set amidst its mountainous landscape, hosting many rural inns that offer tourist experiences combining natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
A report by the Saudi Press Agency stated that the “Al-Ayid Inn” in Bani Kabir is one of the most prominent of these inns, as it reflects traditional architectural style built with local stones and wood, and contains more than 450 diverse heritage pieces including antique furniture, household items, and old paper currency, allowing visitors to learn about the details of life once lived by the people of Al-Baha.
The owner of the inn, Sharifa Al-Ghamdi, indicated that she worked over nine years to restore a number of old houses and equip them to preserve their architectural identity and transform them into a tourist destination that introduces local heritage.
The role of rural inns in supporting tourism
The report added that rural inns highlight an aspect of the region's architectural and cultural heritage, and demonstrate the skill of using natural materials in line with Al-Baha's terrain and climate, while also contributing to supporting cultural tourism and preserving historical buildings.
In the same context, the Al-Baha region includes more than 194 archaeological and heritage sites, including 72 heritage villages, representing a cultural and tourism asset that enhances the region's appeal, introduces generations to its historical legacy, and supports national tourism development goals.
