The Sakan Foundation for Developmental Housing launched the 'Sakanthon 2026' initiative, the first national hackathon specialized in innovation for developmental housing, with the aim of attracting innovators, entrepreneurs, experts, and students to develop practical and sustainable solutions that contribute to enhancing the developmental housing system in the Kingdom. Sakanthon is based on four main tracks: housing solutions, financing solutions, sustainable giving, and digital solutions, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to improve the efficiency of the non-profit sector and enhance social innovation.

The Secretary-General of the Sakan Foundation for Developmental Housing, Mr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Jalajel, said: 'We view Sakanthon as a national platform for producing applicable developmental solutions, not just a competition for innovation. Through it, we seek to attract creative minds and transform their ideas into qualitative initiatives that contribute to addressing developmental housing challenges, enhance the sustainability of its resources, and raise the efficiency of its services, reflecting positively on deserving families and the non-profit sector, and establishing innovative partnerships that support the future of housing in the Kingdom.'

It is worth noting that the hackathon provides a specialized enrichment program and mentoring sessions led by a select group of experts, along with valuable prizes and honoring of winners at the closing ceremony, contributing to transforming promising ideas into applicable solutions with sustainable impact.

Sakan Foundation confirmed that registration is open to various disciplines related to housing, innovation, finance, technology, and artificial intelligence, inviting interested individuals to register and participate in shaping the future of developmental housing via the link https://sakanthon.sakan.org.sa/
