The Institute of Internal Auditors has appointed Yazid Al-Khalifa, a member of the Saudi Arabian Institute of Internal Auditors, as a member of its newly established Governance, Risk, and Compliance Council, which aims to enhance the integration of governance, risk management, compliance, and oversight systems, serving entities with common interests and contributing to raising the efficiency of governance practices internationally.

Al-Khalifa's appointment is part of a select group of international experts specializing in governance, risk management, and compliance, with the aim of contributing to the development of professional practices, enhancing institutional resilience, and supporting the effectiveness of governance and oversight systems.

This appointment reflects the growing presence of national competencies in international professional organizations, the status that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoys in the field of internal auditing and related areas, as well as the role played by the Saudi Arabian Institute of Internal Auditors in supporting national cadres, developing the profession, and enhancing its regional and international presence.

Al-Khalifa has extensive professional experience in strategy, governance, risk management, and compliance. He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and an Executive Leadership certificate from Harvard University. Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions in prominent national entities, most notably: the Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate, the Saudi Payments Platform (under the Saudi Central Bank), Mobily, and the Saudi Tadawul Group. He currently serves on a number of boards of directors and audit and risk committees in government institutions and private companies.
