Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Foreign Minister, affirmed that achieving lasting security and stability in the region cannot occur through military force, but rather through sustainable diplomatic solutions that address the root causes of crises, calling for enhancing dialogue, joint action, and building a regional system based on respect for state sovereignty, good neighborliness, and commitment to international law, during his participation, via video link, in the sixteenth session of the Gulf Research Forum in Cambridge, United Kingdom.

The Foreign Minister explained, in a speech delivered during the forum, that the region is going through a pivotal stage that requires strengthening dialogue, diplomacy, and joint action to face regional and international challenges, stressing that lasting stability cannot be achieved through military force, but through sustainable diplomatic solutions that address the root causes of crises.

He added that recent developments have shown the extent of the impact of regional tensions on the international arena, and their repercussions on global security, energy markets, and economic growth, calling for directing efforts towards preserving the existing international order and creating the necessary conditions to reach political solutions that lead to achieving lasting security and peace, rather than being satisfied with temporary de-escalation measures.

He pointed out that building a more stable regional system requires commitment to the basic principles stipulated in the United Nations Charter, foremost of which are respect for state sovereignty, non-interference in their internal affairs, respect for the principles of good neighborliness, ensuring freedom of navigation, and commitment to international law, affirming that these principles represent the foundation for any stable regional system.

The Foreign Minister mentioned that the region has great potential that qualifies it to achieve a more prosperous future, expressing his optimism about the possibility of overcoming current challenges, noting that 'Saudi Vision 2030' stems from a firm belief that development, innovation, and providing opportunities represent the best way to achieve stability and avoid conflicts.

He said that investing in this stage requires working to establish a more cooperative and stable regional system based on clear principles, mutual respect, and sustainable agreements that achieve peace, security, and prosperity for all.
