The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the statements of the Houthi militia towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including threats to ban maritime navigation.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to ensure the implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 on Yemen and Resolution 2722 on the rights and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, affirming that freedom of navigation in international waterways is a right guaranteed by international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982. The Ministry also affirmed the UAE's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures to maintain its security.
