Yemen Welcomes Saudi Supportive Affirmations and Rejects Houthi Claims of Siege
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen welcomed the affirmations contained in the statement of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which reflect the Kingdom's steadfast positions in support of Yemen, its people, and its legitimate government, appreciating its fraternal role in supporting state institutions and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The ministry also praised the statement's highlighting of violations and practices committed by the Houthi terrorist militia against the Yemeni people and national capacities, stressing that these violations have contributed to exacerbating humanitarian and economic suffering and prolonging the conflict.
The ministry rejected Houthi claims regarding a siege on Yemen, describing them as an attempt to evade responsibility for the deterioration of living conditions and obstruction of peace efforts.
The ministry called on the international community to support the Yemeni government in implementing relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216, and to confront the threats posed by the Houthi militia to regional and international security and to freedom of maritime navigation in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb.
The Republic of Yemen affirmed its full support for the measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and waterways.
