1057 seizures of prohibited items in a week
Land, sea, and air customs ports recorded 1057 seizures of prohibited items during a week, as part of the ongoing efforts by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to enhance security and protect society from all types and forms of prohibited items. The seized items included 121 narcotic substances such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, Captagon pills, and others, in addition to 374 prohibited materials. Customs ports also thwarted 2264 items of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 39 cases involving financial amounts, and 6 items of weapons and accessories. ZATCA affirmed that it continues to tighten customs control over the kingdom's imports and exports, achieving societal security and protection, through continuous cooperation and coordination with all its partners from relevant authorities. At the same time, ZATCA called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy, by contacting them on the security reporting number (1910), via email ([email protected]), or the international number (009661910), through which the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law provisions in complete confidentiality, with a financial reward given to the reporter if the information is correct.
