Yemeni authorities reopened the airspace for air navigation this evening (Monday), resuming all flights at Yemeni airports, following a temporary suspension that affected air traffic over the past hours due to security developments in the country that prompted temporary measures.

Competent authorities issued directives to resume flights to and from Yemeni airports and return air traffic to normal after the precautionary measures taken earlier ended.

Airlines are expected to resume their scheduled flights according to approved operational plans, with travel to and from Yemeni airports gradually resuming, after the reasons that necessitated the temporary closure decision have been resolved.

This step marks the return of maritime and air activity to normal.

Earlier today, the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology issued a warning to all airlines and international organizations operating flights to and from airports of the Republic of Yemen, confirming that all airports of the Republic of Yemen are closed to air traffic until further notice.

The Yemeni government had formed a government crisis management team to coordinate and manage military, political, diplomatic, legal, and media efforts, continuously monitor developments, take necessary actions, remain vigilant, and respond quickly to any attacks or violations of Yemeni airspace and sovereignty, considering them a red line, to ensure unified government performance, quick decision-making, and effective response to all developments.
