After UAE statement, Revolutionary Guard announces 'targeting and disabling' two tankers in Strait of Hormuz

(CNN)-- Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced on Tuesday in a statement published on Telegram that it 'hit with missiles and disabled' what it described as 'two rogue giant oil tankers'.
It explained that the two tankers 'had turned off their navigation systems and ignored warnings from Iranian authorities in the Strait of Hormuz, and attempted to pass through a mined corridor'.
The Revolutionary Guard's statement came after Iranian missiles struck two UAE tankers in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz.
The two tankers 'Mombasa' and 'Al-Bahiya' were attacked while in Omani territorial waters, resulting in the death of an Indian crew member on board the latter, according to the UAE Ministry of Defense.
The Revolutionary Guard's statement did not mention the names of the two tankers it claimed to have hit, nor the flag they were flying, and it did not specify the time of the attack.
