The Jordanian army announced on Sunday that it intercepted 3 Iranian missiles targeting the Kingdom's territory, while a fourth fell in a remote area.

A responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces stated that "air defense systems intercepted and shot down 3 Iranian missiles out of 4 that targeted the Kingdom's territory, while the fourth missile fell in a remote area in the south of the Kingdom, far from residential communities."

The source explained that "the incident did not result in any human injuries or material damage, confirming that Royal Engineering Corps teams began dealing with the missile impact site and securing it according to the applicable technical and security procedures."

The source affirmed that "the Jordanian Armed Forces continue to monitor the Kingdom's airspace at the highest levels of readiness, and will deal firmly with any threat targeting the security of the Kingdom and the safety of its citizens."

Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli army reported that it had detected missiles launched from Iran towards the Jordanian city of Aqaba, adjacent to Israel.

It warned of the possibility of the attacks extending to southern Israel, at a time when official Jordanian television reported that warning sirens sounded across the Kingdom.
