The Turkish Ministry of National Defense released on Friday a video covering the massacres committed by the Greek Cypriot EOKA terrorist organization against Turkish Cypriots.
The ministry said in a post on the US-based platform 'X': 'We have never and will never forget the brutal and barbaric massacres committed by the Greek Cypriot EOKA terrorist organization and its supporters against the Turkish Cypriot people, and we will not allow others to forget them.'
The first part of the video included scenes of attacks and massacres carried out by the organization against Turkish Cypriots.
The second part contained confessions made by a Greek Cypriot terrorist regarding the massacres committed against Turkish Cypriots.
The ministry explained that the video reveals the inhumane massacres committed by the EOKA organization against Turkish Cypriots through historical video footage and confessions.
On December 21, 1963, EOKA terrorists launched a series of attacks targeting Turkish Cypriots, resulting in the martyrdom of 364 people and the evacuation of 103 villages with a Turkish Muslim majority on the island.
This day is known in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as 'Bloody Christmas' in memory of events aimed at killing and displacing Muslims from the island of Cyprus.
The EOKA terrorist organization was founded in the mid-1950s by the Greek officer of Greek Cypriot origin, Georgios Grivas, with the aim of ending British colonial rule in Cyprus and uniting the island with Greece through military operations.
After the end of British administration and the declaration of the 'Republic of Cyprus,' the organization sought to commit numerous mass massacres aimed at driving Turkish Cypriots out of the new state, and also killed Greek Cypriots who did not agree with its vision.
