Several Arab countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council condemned, on Saturday, the renewed "Iranian attacks" on Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, considering them a "flagrant violation of sovereignty" of those states and a threat to regional security.
The foreign ministries of Kuwait, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, and Egypt, in separate statements, stressed the need to stop these attacks.
Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, and Iraq announced on Saturday that they had repelled missile and drone attacks, while Saudi Arabia issued warnings and sirens.
** Kuwait
Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the "sinful Iranian aggression" that targeted its territory on Saturday.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said the aggression hit another power and water desalination plant, oil sector facilities, and a number of vital installations, causing fires and severe damage to vital infrastructure, civilian facilities, and residential buildings.
It affirmed that the repeated targeting of vital installations reveals a "systematic aggressive approach" that targets civilian objects and critical infrastructure, endangering civilian lives and safety, in flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the UN Charter.
It also held Iran fully responsible for this "brutal aggression" and its repercussions, calling on it to immediately cease its attacks.
It stressed that Kuwait retains its full right to take all necessary measures to preserve its security and defend its territory and vital installations against any aggression or threat.
** Jordan
Jordan condemned the renewed "brutal Iranian attacks" on Bahrain and Kuwait.
In a statement, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry said these "attacks" are a flagrant violation of states' sovereignty, a threat to their security, stability, and territorial integrity, a dangerous escalation, and a blatant breach of international law and the UN Charter.
It affirmed Jordan's absolute solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait and its standing with them in all steps they take to protect their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents.
** Qatar
Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the renewed "attacks" launched by Iran on the territories of Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Qatar said in a Foreign Ministry statement that these "attacks" are a "flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted states, a blatant breach of international law, the UN Charter, and principles of good neighborliness."
It stressed that targeting power and water desalination plants in Kuwait "crosses all red lines" and is a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which affirms respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these states and rejects targeting civilians and vital installations.
It emphasized that the continuation of these attacks represents a dangerous escalation that would complicate efforts to contain tension and undermine political and diplomatic endeavors aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
It stressed the need for an immediate and complete cessation of all military operations and attacks that threaten the security and stability of the region, refraining from anything that could widen the circle of escalation, a serious return to the path of dialogue and negotiations, and commitment to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.
** UAE
The UAE condemned in the strongest terms the renewed "aggressive Iranian attacks" on Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan with missiles and drones. The UAE Foreign Ministry affirmed in a statement that "these aggressive attacks" represent a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of brotherly states and a threat to their security and stability. It renewed the UAE's full solidarity with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, and its support for all measures that preserve their security and stability.
** Egypt
Egypt condemned the Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman, and expressed its full solidarity with them.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the "Iranian attacks" that targeted Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman, including attacks that hit a number of civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, are a "flagrant violation of the sovereignty of those states, a dangerous escalation threatening the security and stability of the Gulf region and increasing regional tension."
Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with the brotherly states and its standing by them in facing anything that affects their security, stability, and territorial integrity.
** Gulf Cooperation Council
Jassim Muhammad Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, condemned in the strongest terms the "treacherous Iranian attacks" that targeted Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, and their targeting of infrastructure and civilian facilities, resulting in injuries to a number of civilian workers in Kuwait.
In a statement, Al-Budaiwi stressed that Iran's action constitutes a highly dangerous escalation, a grave violation of international law and the UN Charter, and war crimes that warrant international accountability and responsibility.
He emphasized that the GCC stands united with Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan, and supports all measures they take to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
