CENTCOM: Two U.S. Soldiers Killed, Third Missing in Jordan
The U.S. Central Command announced the death of two American soldiers and the disappearance of a third during a mission in Jordan on July 17, while confronting Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday the death of two of its service members and the loss of a third, on July 17 in Jordan.
CENTCOM stated in a press release: "Two members of the U.S. Armed Forces were killed while performing their duties in Jordan, as U.S. Central Command and partner forces were countering Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks."
The statement added: "One service member remains missing while performing their duties."
It continued: "Four U.S. service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals and have since been released after receiving treatment. The remaining personnel, who were evaluated for minor injuries, have returned to duty."

CENTCOM noted: "Out of respect for the families, U.S. Central Command will withhold any additional information, including the identities of the killed service members, until 24 hours after their families have been officially notified."
