Jordanian authorities deny reports of evacuation of Aqaba airport and port
Amman, July 19 (QNA) - Jordanian authorities today denied the validity of news that had been circulated about the evacuation of Aqaba Airport and its seaport, south of Jordan. Muhammad al-Momani, Minister of Government Communication and official spokesman for the Jordanian government, confirmed that the relevant authorities had not issued any decisions regarding the evacuation of Aqaba Airport or its seaport. He pointed out, in press statements, that the airport and port are operating normally. He said that any potential risks are warned about by the competent Jordanian authorities, according to pre-prepared procedures, including the immediate sounding of sirens. He added that the competent Jordanian authorities have not recorded any potential threats in the past hours. Earlier today, news had been circulated that Jordanian authorities evacuated Aqaba International Airport and its port, due to a 'specific and credible threat'.
