The Border Guard land patrols in the Rabwa sector of the Asir region announced the arrest of 14 violators of the border security system, of Ethiopian and Yemeni nationalities, after they were involved in smuggling 240 kilograms of the narcotic khat plant.

Security authorities explained that the arrest operation came as part of their ongoing efforts to combat the smuggling and promotion of narcotic substances. The initial regulatory procedures against the detainees were completed, and they and the seized items were handed over to the competent authority for necessary action.

The security authorities in the Kingdom continue to carry out field operations to pursue drug smuggling networks and enhance border surveillance to prevent the entry of narcotic substances and limit their spread.

The security authorities renewed their call to citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or promotion activities, stressing the importance of the community's role in supporting security efforts.

They pointed out the possibility of reporting via phone number 911 in the regions of Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or via numbers 999 and 994 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions, in addition to the General Directorate for Narcotics Control's report number 995, as well as the email: [email protected].

The competent authorities confirmed that all reports will be handled with full confidentiality, with no liability on the reporter, calling on everyone to cooperate and contribute to protecting society from the dangers of drugs.
