Bahrain condemns Houthi attack on Saudi-owned ship in Red Sea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's strong condemnation and denunciation of the heinous terrorist attack carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, which targeted a ship belonging to a Saudi company while sailing in the Red Sea, resulting in a fire in the bow of the ship without any injuries, considering it a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and a serious threat to the security of maritime navigation, the safety of international trade, and energy supplies. The ministry affirmed the full solidarity of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its full support for the legitimate measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty, security, stability, and vital interests, renewing its call on the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities in putting an end to these terrorist attacks, taking deterrent measures to protect the security and safety of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb, and all vital waterways, and holding those responsible for these attacks accountable, in order to maintain regional and international security and stability.
