The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force confirmed that Iran continues its systematic hostile approach through attacks targeting civilians in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The General Command added, in a statement on Thursday, July 16, 2026, that air defense systems managed to intercept and destroy a number of Iranian aerial attacks.

The General Command indicated that all weapons and units of the Bahrain Defense Force are at the highest levels of readiness and defensive preparedness to protect the kingdom.

Security warnings and instructions

For its part, the General Command called on citizens and residents to exercise caution and not approach any strange or suspicious objects that may result from the remnants of the attacks, and to report them immediately.

The General Command affirmed that the Royal Field Engineering Unit is fully prepared for safe technical handling of these objects, in order to maintain public safety.

Position of international humanitarian law

In the same context, the General Command stressed that the use of missiles and drones to target civilians and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

It is noted that the General Command expressed its pride in the readiness and vigilance of the men of the Defense Force in performing their duty to defend the homeland.
