The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior launched a comprehensive security campaign in the Jleeb al-Shuyoukh area on Wednesday, with the participation of military authorities and several ministries, aimed at detecting building violations, encroachments on state property, and apprehending lawbreakers.

Apprehending violators of residency affairs, lawbreakers, and illegal commercial activities.

The ministry explained that the campaign was carried out with the participation of the Kuwaiti Army, the Kuwait National Guard, the General Fire Force, and several ministries, with the aim of detecting building violations and encroachments on state property, evacuating buildings and plots that are dilapidated or in violation, and dealing with residences that lack safety and security requirements and are overcrowded with single individuals and families, in anticipation of any disasters or accidents.

It added that the campaign also aimed to detect and apprehend violators of residency affairs, lawbreakers, and unlicensed commercial activities in private housing, as well as activities violating regulations. It noted that the participating authorities, each within its jurisdiction, began cordoning off and securing the area, cutting off services to violating buildings, detecting unlicensed activities, residency violations, and encroachments on state property, and issuing the necessary citations.

It affirmed that integrated shelter sites have been prepared to accommodate those evacuated from violating buildings, providing all comforts for families and communities. Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, stated that this campaign marks the beginning of an ongoing phase, not the end of efforts, and will not be limited to the Jleeb area but will extend to all governorates of Kuwait.

He pointed out that Kuwait's reputation is a top priority, and that maintaining the security and safety of everyone living on this good land is a responsibility that cannot be neglected. He referred to the level of danger he witnessed today in the Jleeb area due to environmental and health pollution, noting that among the residents are workers in hospitals and restaurants, which could contribute to the transmission of diseases to them and then to their workplaces, posing a risk to public health.

He stressed that there will be no leniency with violating properties, affirming that all necessary legal measures will be taken against them, including demolishing dilapidated or decrepit buildings when needed, to preserve the safety of lives and property.
