The British Maritime Trade Operations reported on Monday that a fire broke out on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, at a time when the United States and Iran are engaged in a dispute over control of the strait.
The agency said it received a report of an incident 8 nautical miles northwest of Khasab in Oman, adding that it also received information from military authorities stating that a fire had broken out on a ship.
