Saudi Arabia condemned and denounced in the strongest terms the repeated criminal Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, stressing that they constitute a violation of state sovereignty and international law.
In a statement by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, Saudi Arabia held Iran responsible for the consequences of its continued brutal attacks and called for an immediate halt to these violations to preserve the security, stability, and safety of the region.
Riyadh reiterated its full solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain in the measures they take to preserve their sovereignty.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Al-Budaiwi, affirmed that the Iranian attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait represent a continuation of an approach that undermines regional and international efforts aimed at establishing security and peace and resolving crises, describing them as a blatant assault and a flagrant violation of the two countries' sovereignty, a direct threat to their security and stability, and a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. Al-Budaiwi reiterated the Council's full solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait and its support for all measures they take to preserve their security and stability.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, stressing that they constitute a flagrant violation of the Kingdom's sovereignty and a direct threat to its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
The Ministry emphasized, in a statement, Kuwait's absolute rejection of these attacks and the serious escalation they entail, which would undermine regional and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and calm, stressing the need to respect the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817. It also reiterated its firm position supporting Bahrain's security and stability and its full standing by it in all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Meanwhile, Qatar strongly condemned the repeated Iranian attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, describing them as a blatant violation of the two countries' sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law, stressing the need to spare the region the repercussions of escalation and to continue the approach of dialogue and diplomacy, building on understandings aimed at establishing security and stability at the regional and international levels. It also reiterated its full solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait and its support for all measures they take to preserve their sovereignty and security.
In the same context, Oman condemned the military strikes that targeted the territories of Bahrain and Kuwait, as well as the attacks on two Saudi and Qatari commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, affirming its solidarity with the brotherly countries in everything that would preserve their security, stability, and protect their sovereignty and interests.
The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the escalation of military tension in the region poses a threat to regional security, navigational safety, the flow of international trade, and energy supplies, reiterating its absolute rejection of any actions that would undermine the security of states or endanger civilian and commercial vessels, calling on all parties to exercise restraint, cease escalation, prioritize dialogue and diplomatic solutions, and commit to the full implementation of signed understandings in support of efforts aimed at establishing security and peace.
In Cairo, Egypt condemned in the strongest terms Iran's targeting of Bahrain and Kuwait, considering the attacks a flagrant violation of their sovereignty, a serious threat to Gulf security and stability, and an unacceptable escalation that would increase tension in the region. It affirmed its complete rejection of anything that affects the security and sovereignty of brotherly countries, reiterating its call for restraint and de-escalation, and stressing its full solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait, stating that Gulf security is an integral part of Egypt's and the region's security.
Jordan issued two separate statements condemning the Iranian attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, considering them a flagrant violation of the two countries' sovereignty, a threat to their security and stability, a dangerous escalation, and a blatant breach of international law and the United Nations Charter. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed Jordan's full solidarity with Bahrain and Kuwait and its support for all steps they take to protect their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens and residents on their territories.
These positions reflect a Gulf and Arab consensus rejecting the Iranian attacks, affirming the need to respect state sovereignty, and avoiding any steps that would widen the circle of escalation and threaten the region's security, while emphasizing the priority of political and diplomatic solutions to end the crisis.
The Kuwaiti army announced on Wednesday that it had repelled attacks with missiles and drones, while Bahrain reported that its air defenses had dealt with Iranian attacks. The Bahraini Ministry of Interior sounded warning sirens, calling on citizens and residents to head to the nearest safe place. No information has been recorded so far about any casualties or direct damage resulting from these attacks.
