Gulf States Express Solidarity with Qatar, Support Its Measures Against Iranian Aggression
On Tuesday, the Gulf Cooperation Council expressed its strongest condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian targeting of the Qatari tanker 'Al-Rakiyat' and endangering its crew.
Iran launched ballistic missile and drone attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, in a continuing escalation of Tehran's hostile and systematic approach targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. Meanwhile, the air defenses of both countries announced they had successfully countered the attacks without any casualties or material damage.
On Wednesday, the Kuwaiti army announced that its air defenses intercepted two ballistic missiles and 13 hostile drones that entered the country's airspace early Wednesday, confirming the successful interception with no material damage or injuries.
Official spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Attwan, said that the armed forces detected the two ballistic missiles and drones and dealt with them successfully, emphasizing that the armed forces continue to perform their duties in a state of full readiness and preparedness to enhance the country's security and protect the safety of citizens and residents.
The Kuwaiti army had earlier published a statement on X stating: 'Kuwaiti air defenses are currently confronting hostile missile and drone attacks,' adding, 'The General Staff of the Army notes that if explosions are heard, it is due to the air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks.'

Meanwhile, Bahrain announced on Wednesday that its air defense systems repelled a number of Iranian aerial attacks.
The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force stated that Iran continues its systematic hostile approach through its felonious attacks using missiles and drones targeting civilians in Bahrain.
It added that its air defense systems repelled a number of treacherous Iranian aerial attacks.
The General Command stressed that the deliberate use of missiles and drones to target civilians and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
For its part, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that sirens were activated after Iran targeted several sites in the country, calling on citizens and residents to remain calm and head to the nearest safe location.
The ministry stated in a post on its X account: 'Sirens have been activated. We ask citizens and residents to remain calm, head to the nearest safe location, and follow news through official channels.'
