A Kuwaiti border crossing with Iraq was repeatedly targeted by drones on Thursday, described by official statements as an aggressive attack, with no human casualties recorded.

Kuwait's Ministry of Defense announced that the Al-Abdali border crossing was repeatedly targeted by hostile drones on Thursday. The spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, Colonel Staff Pilot Saud Al-Attwan, said that specialized teams immediately responded to the attack and took necessary measures to secure the site in coordination with relevant authorities.

He added that inspection and bomb disposal teams from the ground forces conducted scanning and securing operations, removing drone debris in accordance with approved technical procedures, ensuring the site's safety and freedom from any hazards.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense affirmed that the armed forces continue to perform their tasks and duties with high efficiency, maintaining constant readiness and permanent preparedness to protect the country's borders and preserve its security and stability.

For his part, the official spokesperson for the General Fire Force, Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Gharib, explained that firefighting teams from the Subiya and Al-Abdali centers managed to control a fire that broke out at the Al-Abdali border crossing in the north of the country after it was targeted by hostile drones. He confirmed that no human casualties were recorded and that losses were limited to material damage.

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, expressed the state's condemnation and denunciation of the continued aggression by Iran and its proxies against the country, which targeted the Al-Abdali border crossing, in a blatant violation of the country's sovereignty, a direct threat to its security and stability, and a serious violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817.

The ministry stressed that persisting in these blatant and repeated attacks constitutes a dangerous escalation and a threat to regional security and stability, reflecting a hostile approach that cannot be justified or accepted, reaffirming Kuwait's full and inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, and taking all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty, protect its territory and resources, and maintain its security and stability.
