The Yemeni government considered that the Houthis' adoption of attacks on civilian ships confirms their terrorist nature and their determination to threaten regional and international security, increasing the suffering of the Yemeni people.

The British Foreign Office, in a post on 'X', described the attack as reckless, warning of an environmental disaster and destabilization of the region, and considered it a serious violation of international law.

The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, also stated in a statement that the attack is 'unacceptable and illegal, and inflames the already tense situation in the region,' calling on the Houthis to stop endangering international navigation and the lives of seafarers.
