Interior Ministry: 15,591 violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations arrested in a week
The joint field campaigns to monitor and arrest violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations, conducted across all regions of the Kingdom from 10/01/1448 AH (25/06/2026) to 16/01/1448 AH (01/07/2026), yielded the following results:
First: The total number of violators arrested in the joint security field campaigns across all regions of the Kingdom reached 15,591, including 7,759 violators of the residency regulations, 4,488 violators of the border security regulations, and 3,344 violators of the labor regulations.
Second: A total of 1,629 individuals were arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom, of whom 46% were of Yemeni nationality, 53% were Ethiopian, and 1% were of other nationalities. Additionally, 58 individuals were arrested for attempting to cross the border out of the Kingdom illegally.
Third: 17 individuals were arrested for involvement in transporting, harboring, employing, and covering up violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations.
Fourth: A total of 27,445 violators are currently undergoing procedures for the implementation of regulations, including 25,412 men and 2,033 women.
Fifth: 16,912 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 4,174 violators were referred to complete their travel bookings, and 12,292 violators were deported.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that anyone who facilitates the entry of border security violators into the Kingdom, transports them within the country, provides them with shelter, or offers them any form of assistance or service will expose themselves to penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to one million riyals, confiscation of the transport and accommodation used for harboring, in addition to public shaming. It clarified that this crime is considered a major offense warranting arrest and is a crime involving honor and trust, urging reporting of any violations via call 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions.
