Iran's Health Ministry announced on Sunday that more than 50 people have been killed and over 517 others injured as a result of US attacks on the country since June 27.

This came in a post by the ministry's spokesman, Hossein Kermanpour, on the American platform X.

Kermanpour said that more than 50 people have been killed in US attacks since June 27, while more than 517 others have been injured, including women and children.

He added that some of the injured are still receiving treatment in hospitals, while 468 people have left after completing their treatment.

Kermanpour had announced on Saturday that the US attacks since June 27 had resulted in the killing of 50 people and the injury of more than 500 others, including women and children.

On June 18, 2026, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding that included a cessation of military operations and the start of negotiations to reach a broader agreement.

But US President Donald Trump announced on July 8 the end of the interim agreement after Iran targeted three ships in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting Washington to resume its strikes inside Iran amid escalating Iranian responses.

Washington demands guaranteeing freedom of navigation and its security in the Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran insists on imposing a mechanism to regulate ship passage through the strategic waterway, exacerbating fears of disruption to oil and gas exports from the region.
