Iran Threatens to Strike US Interests and Allies if Washington Targets Its Nuclear Facilities
Iran threatened on Tuesday evening to target US interests and Washington's allies in the region if the United States carries out any attack on Iranian nuclear sites, considering that such a step would expand the scope of the war in the Middle East.
Official Iranian media quoted the Supreme Joint Military Command in Iran (Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters) as saying that 'all US interests and its allies in the region will be legitimate targets if Washington attacks Iranian nuclear sites.'
The command added that any US strike against Iranian nuclear facilities would be considered 'an expansion of the scope of the war' in the region, affirming that the Iranian response would include US interests and its allies.
This threat comes after statements by US President Donald Trump in which he announced that the United States would 'very soon' launch a strike targeting the Pikax Mountain area, in a new escalation that increases tensions between Washington and Tehran.
