Iran: US Missiles Target Oil Tanker Anchored at Kharg Island
The deputy governor of Bushehr reported that an empty oil tanker anchored at Kharg Island was again attacked by US missiles on Friday, according to Iran's IRNA news agency.
The United States escalated its bombing campaign on Iran earlier Friday, targeting bridges and an airport, and US Marine Corps forces boarded an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, where renewed clashes disrupted energy supplies from it again.
In a separate context, US Central Command said earlier today that US forces successfully destroyed the control tower at Chabahar port – Shahid Kalantari, which is part of a maritime surveillance network stretching along Iran's coast on the Gulf of Oman.
It added on its X account that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard had used the control tower for decades to track and target commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
