The Jeddah Municipality succeeded in preventing 3,699 pieces of clothing bearing counterfeit logos of clubs and trademarks from reaching the markets, after carrying out two inspection campaigns targeting violating sites in the southern and central parts of the governorate, as part of its ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities.

Yasser bin Siraj Bakhsh, Director General for Monitoring and Addressing Negative Phenomena, stated that the two campaigns resulted in the destruction of all seized clothing, along with the confiscation of 19 devices and equipment used in sewing, embroidery, printing, and cutting operations, while the violators were referred to the competent authorities to complete legal procedures against them.

During a joint field campaign implemented within the scope of the Al-Jami'ah Sub-Municipality, inspection teams identified the exploitation of two rooms in a residential site for carrying out sewing, embroidery, and printing of counterfeit trademarks and attaching them to clothing. The campaign resulted in the seizure and destruction of 1,029 counterfeit pieces, in addition to confiscating eight devices and equipment, including embroidery, sewing, printing, and cutting machines.

Meanwhile, 850 pieces without any logos were handed over to the 'Isti'damah' charity for preserving blessings to benefit from them.

At another location, monitoring efforts revealed the exploitation of an apartment in a residential-commercial building for engaging in the violating activity, where 2,670 pieces bearing counterfeit trademarks were seized and completely destroyed in the presence of the competent authorities.

The two campaigns saw the participation of the Al-Jami'ah and Al-Aziziyah sub-municipalities, along with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Ministry of Commerce, Civil Defense, the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, in addition to field inspection teams.

The Jeddah Municipality affirmed its continuation of field inspection campaigns to raise the level of compliance, enhance monitoring efficiency, and confront violating activities that exploit residential sites, thereby supporting consumer protection and providing a safe environment for residents and visitors.
