The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy in the State of Kuwait announced that the Subiya power and water distillation station was subjected to a hostile attack on Saturday evening, which resulted in a partial outage of one of the station's components.

The ministry explained in its statement No. 20 that the incident caused a reduction in total electrical loads by 3,000 megawatts in a number of generation units, in order to maintain the safety of the station and its workers, and to ensure the stability of the electrical system.

The ministry stressed that technical emergency teams began handling the incident in coordination with the General Fire Force and relevant authorities, noting the activation of operational plans and emergency plans, without recording any injuries.

The ministry called on citizens and residents to cooperate during this exceptional stage by rationalizing electricity consumption, especially during peak hours from 11 am to 5 pm, in order to help reduce loads on the electrical network and support the efforts of technical teams in repair work and restoring operational readiness.

The ministry emphasized the continuation of technical and operational follow-up around the clock, stressing that it will inform the public of any developments through its official channels, calling on everyone to obtain information from official sources and not to circulate rumors or unreliable information.
