Kuwait: Houthi Attack on Saudi Ship a Flagrant Violation of International Law
أدانت الكويت هجوم مليشيا الحوثي على سفينة سعودية في البحر الأحمر، واصفة إياه بأنه انتهاك صارخ للقانون الدولي وتهديد لأمن الملاحة. وأكدت تضامنها الكامل مع المملكة العربية السعودية.
The State of Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack launched by the Houthi militia on a Saudi ship while it was sailing in the Red Sea, in a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to the security and freedom of maritime navigation, the safety of international trade, and energy supplies.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed, in a statement published by the Kuwait News Agency, the full solidarity of the State of Kuwait with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing by its side and supporting all measures it takes to preserve its sovereignty and protect its security and interests, stressing Kuwait's rejection of any practices that would undermine the security and stability of the region.

It also stressed the need for an immediate halt to these attacks and adherence to the rules of international law that guarantee freedom of navigation and safe passage in international waterways.
Targeting of a Ship in the Red Sea
Earlier, a responsible source at the Transport Authority said that the ship (ENCELIA), owned by a Saudi company, was targeted while sailing in the Red Sea, causing a fire in the front of the ship. Al-Ekhbariya channel quoted the source as confirming the safety of all crew members, and that all relevant authorities have taken all necessary measures to secure the ship and its crew and protect the marine environment. He stressed that these attacks violate international laws and norms that guarantee the safety of commercial ships and their crews.
