Kuwait's Ministry of Defense revealed Thursday that Iranian forces carried out a drone attack targeting northern areas, as part of the escalating attacks Tehran is launching on US-allied Gulf states.

This escalation comes at a time when the region is witnessing rising tensions between Iran and the United States.

The official spokesman for Kuwait's Ministry of Defense, Colonel Staff Saoud Al-Atwan, said in a statement that the attack on the Abdali border crossing with Iraq caused 'material damage'.

The statement stressed that there were no injuries or deaths, affirming 'the continued readiness and constant preparedness of the Kuwaiti armed forces to protect the nation's borders.'

Other Gulf states hosting US military bases, including Bahrain, have witnessed repeated Iranian attacks in recent days, after Washington escalated its attacks on Iran following Tehran's strikes on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

This attack comes in the context of regional escalation, as other Gulf states such as Bahrain have witnessed similar attacks recently. Iran targets vital installations in Gulf states that host US bases. Washington is expected to increase pressure on Tehran in response to these attacks. These developments also threaten the stability of the region and raise fears of a wider military confrontation.
