The Israeli newspaper Maariv revealed that the Israeli military has completed preparations for extensive offensive plans targeting Iranian infrastructure, in anticipation of a new military confrontation with Tehran, or in case Israel is directly attacked.

The newspaper quoted an Israeli security source as saying that the military 'has finalized its offensive plans,' and that it would be able to strike targets that were not hit in previous rounds of fighting if the political leadership decides to escalate.

According to the report, the list of potential targets includes Iranian oil and gas facilities, foremost among them Kharg Island, as well as power plants, industrial sites, and transportation networks, as part of a strategy aimed at increasing pressure on Iran's economy.

The source added that these targets were considered during previous confrontations, but a US-Israeli decision prevented them from being struck at that stage.

Netanyahu Prefers to Wait

Despite the military readiness, Maariv indicated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu currently prefers not to engage in the renewed escalation between the United States and Iran, while keeping military options on the table if events develop.

The report noted that the presence of thousands of American troops and a large air force within Israel is an influential factor in any potential escalation scenario.

These developments come after US President Donald Trump announced his agreement to resume talks with Iran, while simultaneously confirming the end of the ceasefire that had been in place since last April.

In response, Tehran stuck to its position rejecting what it called 'surrender,' while Pakistan, which mediated between the two sides, called for preserving the understandings that stopped the war and continuing the negotiation path.

Fears of a return to military confrontation have increased in recent days, following attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, followed by US strikes on sites inside Iran, and an Iranian response with missiles and drones toward targets in the region.
