'Masam' Extracts 1,293 Mines, Ammunition, and Explosive Devices in Yemen in a Week
In the second week of July 2026, the 'Masam' project, affiliated with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, succeeded in extracting (1,293) mines from Yemeni lands, distributed across various regions.
The Masam project represents one of the most prominent humanitarian efforts for mine clearance in Yemen, working to rid contaminated areas of war remnants.
The tally included (65) anti-tank mines, two anti-personnel mines, (1,218) unexploded ordnance, and (8) explosive devices.
Clearing Yemeni lands of mines
The team of the King Salman Relief Center's 'Masam' project in Aden Governorate extracted (642) unexploded ordnance and two explosive devices in Aden city, one anti-tank mine in Khor Maksar district, and (9) unexploded ordnance and one explosive device in Qa'taba district of al-Dhale Governorate.

The team extracted one unexploded ordnance in Hays district of al-Hudaydah Governorate, and extracted two anti-personnel mines, two anti-tank mines, and (440) unexploded ordnance in al-Mukalla district of Hadramawt Governorate.
In Midi district of Hajjah Governorate, the King Salman Relief Center's 'Masam' project team extracted (61) anti-tank mines, (51) unexploded ordnance, and two explosive devices, and (21) unexploded ordnance in al-Mudharibah district of Lahj Governorate. In Marib Governorate, it extracted (9) unexploded ordnance and (3) explosive devices in al-Wadi district, and the team extracted one anti-tank mine in Asilan district of Shabwah Governorate.
Yemen's Mines
In Taiz Governorate, it extracted (20) unexploded ordnance in al-Makha district, (22) unexploded ordnance in Dhubab district, and (3) unexploded ordnance in Salah district. Thus, the number of mines extracted since the beginning of July until now has risen to (2,500) mines, while the number of mines extracted since the start of the 'Masam' project until now has risen to (573,625) mines, after being randomly planted across various Yemeni lands to reap innocent lives of children, women, and the elderly, and to instill fear in the hearts of the safe. Saudi Arabia continues, through its humanitarian arm the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, its efforts to clear Yemeni lands of mines, as part of a project that enhances civilian safety and contributes to enabling Yemeni brethren to live a dignified and secure life.
The project's efforts since its launch have resulted in the removal of (573,625) mines, which contributed to protecting civilians and facilitating the return of normal life. Saudi Arabia continues its support for these humanitarian initiatives as part of its commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
