Massive rally in Taiz in support of the liberation battle and protecting Yemeni sovereignty
The city of Taiz witnessed today, Thursday, a massive rally in support of the liberation battle and the restoration of state institutions, and in support of the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council aimed at protecting Yemeni sovereignty and ending the Houthi militia coup.
Crowds flocked to Taiz from various districts of the governorate, representing a wide range of political and social components, parties and organizations, civil society organizations, as well as notables and social figures.
Participants in the rally raised slogans supporting the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, and backing the battle to restore the republic and extend state authority over all Yemeni territory, and to protect national sovereignty and the dignity of the Yemeni people.
A statement was issued from the rally on behalf of the people of Taiz governorate, affirming that the governorate has paid a heavy price in defense of the state, its republican system, freedom, and dignity, stressing that the will of Yemenis is unbreakable, that the state project will remain, and that the coup will inevitably vanish.
The statement pointed to the pivotal role of Taiz governorate in adopting the comprehensive national project, as the living national conscience and the fortress against which projects of imamate and tyranny have shattered, affirming that it will remain at the forefront until state institutions are restored, the coup is ended, and republican authority is extended over the entire national territory.
It explained that the imamate project, both old and new, has brought nothing to Yemen and its people but war, hunger, poverty, and division, noting that it has become the most dangerous arm of the Iranian regime in the region, and that the continued support, arming, and funding of it targets not only Yemen but also threatens national security, international navigation freedom, and opportunities for peace and stability.
The statement renewed the full support of the people of Taiz governorate for the content of the speech by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, considering it a historic national speech that set the outlines of the next phase and established the priority of restoring state institutions, preserving national sovereignty, ending the coup, and alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The statement also announced support for all measures taken by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to protect the sovereignty of the Yemeni Republic, and rejection of any attempts to impose a fait accompli outside state institutions or to turn Yemen into an arena for implementing the agendas of the Iranian regime and its subversive project in the region.
Participants endorsed the government measures regarding the resumption of oil exports, considering the step a responsible national decision aimed at restoring the state's sovereign resources and enabling it to pay salaries, improve services, and support the national economy.
The statement affirmed that Taiz governorate, which has been under a continuous siege for about a decade and has lost thousands of martyrs and wounded, represents the truest witness to the falsity of the Houthi militia's claims and the humanitarian, economic, and security suffering they have caused.
The people of Taiz condemned the continued interference of the Iranian regime in Yemeni affairs, and its political and military support for the Houthi militia, considering it a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Yemeni Republic and a direct threat to the security of Yemen and the region, international navigation freedom, and international peace and security.
The statement called for unifying the national ranks and rallying around the state project, its political leadership, armed forces, and security agencies, making the liberation battle and ending the coup a comprehensive national goal for all Yemenis.
In conclusion, the participants praised the stances of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, alongside the Yemeni people, and its continuous support for state institutions, its contributions to alleviating human suffering, funding development and service projects, supporting the national economy, and what it has provided to Taiz governorate and other Yemeni governorates.
