Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that economic pressures imposed on his country could harm its 'military achievements'.

This came in his remarks during a meeting of the 'Supreme Council of the Judiciary' in the capital Tehran, where he discussed current issues.

Pezeshkian explained that taking a firm stance against the 'enemy' may lead society to face some difficulties.

He pointed out the coincidence of Nowruz, Ramadan, and the war in the same period, leading to price increases for some products despite no shortage recorded in markets.

He noted that the price increases were not due to government negligence, but to economic conditions and certain restrictions imposed on the country.

Pezeshkian said his country is currently waging a 'comprehensive war,' adding: 'Economic pressures may harm our military gains.'

He continued: 'The armed forces defend the country with dedication, but economic pressures lead to a state of social discontent, and if it widens, it may harm public support for the ruling system.'

On July 8 of this month, US President Donald Trump announced the end of the ceasefire stipulated in the memorandum of understanding signed with Tehran on June 18 last, which included the lifting of the naval blockade on Iran.

This announcement came after Iran targeted three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, at a time when Tehran asserts its aim to impose a mechanism to regulate ship passage through the waterway, while Washington demands guaranteeing freedom and security of navigation.

The escalation led to disruption of navigation in the strait, threatening energy supplies and air traffic, amid intermittent closures of airspace, and warnings of targeting US facilities and interests outside the Middle East region.
