The Ministry of Interior executed today (Thursday) the death penalty by retribution (qisas) on a perpetrator in Jazan region for killing a citizen.

The ministry stated that the perpetrator, Attiya bin Tahir bin Ahmed Kharmi, a Saudi national, committed the murder of citizen Abdulrahman bin Ahmed bin Zaid Asiri by assaulting him with beatings to various parts of his body, leading to his death.

Security authorities arrested the aforementioned perpetrator, and the investigation resulted in charging him with the crime. After referral to the competent court, a verdict was issued confirming his guilt and ordering his death by retribution (qisas). The verdict became final after being upheld by the appellate court, and a royal order was issued to implement the legally prescribed punishment.

The ministry affirmed to all the Saudi government's commitment to maintaining security, achieving justice, and implementing Islamic Sharia rulings against anyone who assaults peaceful citizens, sheds their blood, and violates their right to life, warning anyone who contemplates such actions that the prescribed legal punishment awaits them.
