Saudi Arabia Affirms Total Rejection of Iran's Destabilizing Behavior in the Region
Saudi Arabia strongly condemned repeated Iranian aggressions against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, and against Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, and Jordan, affirming its total rejection of Iran's continued destabilizing behavior in the region and its violations of the principles of international law, the charters of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the rules of good neighborliness.
This came during the chairmanship of Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, of the session held by the Cabinet today in Jeddah.
At the outset of the session, the Crown Prince was briefed on the content of the phone call he received from US President Donald Trump, during which they reviewed areas of cooperation between the two countries and a number of regional and international issues, and affirmed support for everything that contributes to achieving the security and stability of the region.
The Cabinet welcomed the content of the meeting held in Riyadh between the Saudi and Iraqi sides (SPA).
Prince Mohammed bin Salman briefed the Cabinet on the results of his talks with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, which emphasized the keenness to consolidate and develop bilateral relations at various levels towards a future characterized by deeper joint cooperation, supported by mutual trust, close friendship, and the objectives emanating from Saudi Vision 2030 and Canada's Growth Agenda to build a stronger and more resilient economy for both countries.
In this context, the Cabinet praised the signing of memoranda of understanding during the official visit of the Canadian Prime Minister regarding the establishment of the Saudi-Canadian Coordination Council, cooperation in energy, investment in artificial intelligence, and skills development, as well as the success achieved at the Saudi-Canadian Investment Forum, which included the announcement of trade and investment agreements between government entities, companies, and institutions from both countries in fields such as mining, engineering, infrastructure, advanced industries, training, education, financial services, and information and communications technology.
The Cabinet welcomed the content of the meeting held in Riyadh between the Saudi and Iraqi sides, which included Iraq's reaffirmation of its commitment not to allow the use of its territory and airspace as a launching point for any acts or attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council states, and countries of the region, in addition to agreeing to continue bilateral coordination in a manner that serves common interests.
The Cabinet welcomed the US announcement of the commencement of procedures to repeal the 'Syria as a State Sponsor of Terrorism' designation law enacted in 1979, reaffirming Saudi Arabia's support for the positive steps taken by the Syrian government to enhance security and stability, build state institutions, and fulfill the aspirations of its brotherly people.

The Cabinet reviewed the items on its agenda, including topics that the Shura Council had participated in studying. It also reviewed the outcomes of the Political and Security Affairs Council, the Economic and Development Affairs Council, the General Committee of the Cabinet, and the Experts Commission of the Cabinet regarding these items.
During its session, the Cabinet decided to authorize the Minister of Foreign Affairs - or his deputy - to negotiate with the Guatemalan side on a draft general cooperation agreement between Saudi Arabia and Guatemala, and to sign it; and to authorize the Minister of Culture - or his deputy - to negotiate with the Albanian side on a draft memorandum of understanding for cultural cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of Albania, and to sign it.
The Council also authorized the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development - or his deputy - to negotiate with the Armenian side on a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in labor and social protection between the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, and to sign it.
The Council approved the Saudi Internal Auditors Association to negotiate with the Turkish Institute of Internal Auditors on a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in internal auditing, governance, risk, and compliance, and to sign it; also approved a memorandum of understanding for technical and scientific geological cooperation between the Saudi Geological Survey and the Iraqi Geological Survey; and approved two memoranda of understanding in the field of anti-corruption between the Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority and the Office of the Federal Prosecutor of Brazil, and the High Authority for Good Governance of Côte d'Ivoire.
During its session, the Council approved memoranda of understanding between the General Auditing Bureau of Saudi Arabia and the State Audit Office of North Macedonia for cooperation in accounting, auditing, and professional work; also approved two memoranda of understanding for cooperation in procedures, mechanisms, and strategies related to the non-profit sector between the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development in Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Social Development of Bahrain, and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore; also approved a memorandum of understanding between the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language in Saudi Arabia and the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council; and approved the State Revenues System.
The Council decided to establish a training visa granted to international trainees, according to a number of arrangements; and approved the final accounts of the Agricultural Development Fund, the Tourism Development Fund, and the universities of Jazan, Umm Al-Qura, Hail, and Hafr Al-Batin for previous fiscal years.
It issued directives regarding a number of items on the Cabinet's agenda, including annual reports from the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority, and the universities of Umm Al-Qura, Northern Border, and King Khalid.
