Sirens Sounded in Bahrain
Bahrain's civil aviation authority reported that Iranian drones targeted navigation aids, but operations continued normally. The Bahrain Defense Force intercepted and destroyed multiple Iranian aerial attacks. Sirens were activated, and the US embassy warned of potential threats in Manama.
Bahrain's Civil Aviation Affairs reported that the civil navigation aids of the Bahrain Flight Information Region were targeted by Iranian drones, stressing that the incident did not affect air navigation operations or flight traffic.
In a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) today (Monday), it explained that the competent authorities immediately handled the incident according to the approved operational and security procedures, and took the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of navigation services and the safety of air traffic.
Bahrain Defense Force Announces Interception and Destruction of Iranian Aerial Attacks
The Civil Aviation Affairs confirmed that flights and transit navigation through the Bahrain Flight Information Region are proceeding normally, with continued coordination and follow-up with international organizations and relevant authorities.
Earlier today, the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force stated that air defense systems confronted a number of Iranian aerial attacks today (Monday), and managed to intercept and destroy them, stressing that its forces are on the highest level of readiness to protect the kingdom.
The command said in a statement that Iran continues its "hostile approach" by targeting civilians in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that air defense systems successfully dealt with the aerial attacks that occurred today. It affirmed that all weapons and military units are at the highest levels of defensive readiness to ensure the security of the kingdom and protect its territory.
The General Command called on citizens and residents to exercise caution and not approach any foreign or suspicious objects that may be remnants of the attacks, and to immediately report them to the competent authorities.
It explained that the men of the Royal Field Engineering Unit are on standby to safely handle those objects technically, to ensure public safety.
The command stressed that targeting civilians and private property with missiles and drones constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.
For its part, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior activated sirens four times today (Monday) to warn of a threat.
The ministry urged citizens and residents to remain calm, head to the nearest safe place, and follow news through official channels.
It is noteworthy that the US Embassy in Bahrain had indicated that it had received information suggesting that Iran may seek to target unspecified locations in central Manama, calling on residents in Bahrain to exercise caution.
