The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force announced that Iran continues what it described as its systematic hostile approach through attacks targeting civilians in the kingdom, confirming that Bahrain's air defense systems managed, today, Thursday, July 16, 2026, to intercept and destroy a number of Iranian air attacks.

The General Command explained that its forces dealt with the attacks with high efficiency based on advanced combat readiness and firm will, noting that all weapons and military units are at the highest levels of readiness and defensive preparedness to protect the kingdom's security and the integrity of its territory.

The General Command called on citizens and residents to exercise caution and not to approach any foreign or suspicious objects that may result from remnants of the attacks, and to report them immediately to the competent authorities.

It confirmed that the Royal Field Engineering Unit is on standby for safe technical handling of those objects, ensuring public safety.

The General Command stressed that using missiles and drones to target civilians and private property constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, expressing pride in the combat readiness and high vigilance shown by members of the Bahrain Defense Force in performing their defensive duties to protect the homeland.
