The United States escalated its military operations against Iran for the sixth consecutive night, announcing strikes targeting dozens of military sites.

This comes as the confrontation expands, with a number of Gulf states being attacked, including a power station in Kuwait.

Developments in the US-Iran War

The US military said it carried out raids on coastal surveillance sites, air defense systems, military logistics infrastructure, and naval facilities inside Iran.

Iranian authorities announced the deaths of eight people and injuries to 20 others from raids targeting civilian infrastructure, including the electricity grid, bridges, a port, an airport, and a train station, while calling on residents to ration electricity after damage to the grid in the south of the country. The escalation followed threats by US President Donald Trump to target Iranian bridges and power plants if negotiations faltered, while Tehran responded by asserting that any targeting of its infrastructure would make all infrastructure in the region legitimate targets. Targeting Al Udeid Base

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard also announced targeting Al Udeid Base in Qatar, confirming the destruction of radar systems and military aircraft, while Qatari authorities reported a child injured by shrapnel. The Iranian armed forces also announced carrying out attacks targeting US military sites in Kuwait with drones, and bombing US targets in Jordan using ballistic missiles and drones. This is in addition to targeting an operations command center in the Syrian al-Tanf area and US radars in the Sultanate of Oman, without official confirmation from Damascus or Muscat.

Negotiations Between Washington and Tehran

On the diplomatic front, China and Pakistan called for the resumption of negotiations between Washington and Tehran, while the US administration affirmed its continued openness to the diplomatic track despite the military escalation. In maritime developments, the UK Maritime Security Agency announced that a commercial vessel sustained minor damage after being hit by an unknown projectile near the Strait of Hormuz. It confirmed the safety of its crew and its continued voyage, while oil prices remained relatively stable with Brent crude trading near $85 per barrel.
