The Syrian Ministry of Interior revealed on Saturday the results of the investigation into the cell recently arrested in connection with the bombings that took place in the capital, Damascus.
According to the ministry's statement, 'The ongoing investigations with members of the terrorist cell recently arrested, along with analysis of technical evidence and matching of security data, have confirmed the cell's responsibility for the terrorist bombing that targeted the Armament Administration building of the Ministry of Defense in the capital Damascus last May.'
The statement explained that the cell admitted during the investigations 'to carrying out the operation with the aim of targeting public institutions, undermining security and stability, and spreading chaos among citizens.'
The ministry indicated that investigations are still ongoing to uncover all those involved and cooperating with the cell, and to take necessary legal measures against them.
The ministry had earlier announced that internal security forces, in cooperation and coordination with the General Intelligence Service, succeeded in a complex security operation and precise intelligence follow-up to bring down all members of the terrorist cell responsible for the recent Damascus bombings, through a series of simultaneous raids targeting their scattered locations in Damascus and its countryside, including Al-Qutayfah, Sayyidah Zaynab, Qudsia suburb, and Ash al-Warwar.
