The Taiwan government threatened to take military measures against any Chinese vessels that violate its territorial waters.

It added that its military will continue to take all necessary measures to expel Chinese ships that violate our waters by force, according to Al-Sharq.

The Taiwan government further stated that China has no sovereignty or related rights in the waters east of our country.

The Chinese government had called on the Democratic Progressive Party in Taiwan to abandon the separatist statements contained in the party's program document and to recognize the 1992 Consensus (an unwritten political understanding between representatives of China and Taiwan that upholds the One China principle).
