The Yemeni Ministry of Defense announced that the Yemeni Armed Forces targeted the runway of Sana'a International Airport to prevent the Iranian plane from landing on Yemeni soil.

The ministry said in a brief statement, "The terrorist Houthi militias, backed by the Iranian regime, prevented the Yemeni national airline from landing at the capital Sana'a airport and insisted that the Iranians violate Yemeni territory, so the airport runway was targeted."

The Yemeni Ministry of Defense called on Monday to evacuate Sana'a International Airport, warning citizens not to approach the airport area.

The ministry affirmed in a press statement, as reported by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that it would deal with any entity or aircraft attempting to breach Yemeni airspace or violate the procedures and instructions issued by the competent authorities.

It indicated that this measure comes within the framework of preserving the safety and security of citizens, and taking the necessary precautionary measures to deal with potential developments and security challenges.

The ministry stressed the readiness of the armed forces to deal with any field developments, and to take appropriate measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, to ensure the protection of national sovereignty and the preservation of the country's security and stability.
