In a statement by the Yemeni Ministry of Defense reported by the Saba news agency, it said, "The terrorist Houthi militias backed by the Iranian regime prevented Yemeni national aviation from landing at the capital Sanaa airport, and insisted that Iranian aviation violate Yemeni territory, and therefore the airport runway was targeted."
Warning statement before targeting
Earlier, the Yemeni armed forces issued a statement affirming that they would respond appropriately to the violation of Yemen's airspace by the Iranian plane, backed by the Houthi militia. The statement said that the legitimate Yemeni government tried to convince Iran and the Houthis through diplomatic and political means, in cooperation with international and regional powers, not to proceed with violating Yemeni airspace, which has been repeated more than once, but patience has now run out in the face of these violations of Yemeni sovereignty.
The statement warned that the legitimate government would respond appropriately to confront this treacherous aggression with available means, holding the Iranian government responsible for the consequences of those violations.
