Yemeni Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Taher Al-Aqili, affirmed that the armed forces in their various formations are 'at the highest levels of combat and moral readiness to wage the battle of liberation and deliverance and to end the Houthi coup.'

Al-Aqili, in a statement issued Monday evening, praised the call by the head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Rashad Al-Alimi, for the Yemeni people to rally around the armed forces and all military formations to perform their constitutional duties.

The Minister of Defense reiterated that 'the armed forces are proceeding with full determination to protect the capabilities of the Yemeni people and preserve the republic and national sovereignty on land, sea, and air.'

In a direct message to the people in areas under Houthi control, Al-Aqili called on them to 'protect their children and not drag them into a losing battle waged by mercenaries of the Iranian regime by proxy, in which Yemenis have no stake whatsoever,' as he put it.
