The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) recorded 1,131 seizures of prohibited items at land, sea, and air customs ports, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance customs control and protect society from various types of contraband.

The seized items included 118 types of narcotics, notably hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and Captagon pills, in addition to 402 types of other prohibited substances.

Customs ports also foiled the smuggling of 2,478 types of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 25 items related to undeclared monetary amounts, and 9 types of weapons and their accessories.

ZATCA affirmed its continued tightening of customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports, through ongoing cooperation and coordination with all relevant partner entities, to achieve community security and protection.

The Authority called on citizens and residents to contribute to combating smuggling and protecting the national economy by contacting it via the security reports number (1910), email ([email protected]), or the international number (009661910), noting that all reports are handled with complete confidentiality, with a financial reward given to the informant if the information is verified.
