Egyptian internationals Marwan Attia and Imam Ashour, players of Al Ahly's first football team, have entered the interest of the sports administration at Al-Ittihad club, according to sources close to Al-Riyadiah. According to the same sources, Al-Ittihad is studying several options to strengthen the midfield before the start of the new season, and the duo is technically appreciated by the club's sports administration. The sources indicated that the sports administration is awaiting the resolution of the technical file by German Jens Wessing, the team's coach, before taking any official steps towards formal negotiations with Al Ahly. Attia, the defensive midfielder, aged 27, has appeared in 250 matches during his career, scoring four goals and providing 11 assists. He is under contract with Al Ahly until summer 2029 and was present in Egypt's list for the ongoing World Cup. Winger Ashour, aged 28, has appeared in 247 matches, scoring 53 and providing 37 goals, and is under contract with his club until summer 2028. Ashour participated in his country's five matches in the World Cup edition, which concludes Sunday in the United States.
