Arsenal has made a decision regarding its French defender William Saliba, who was injured in the 2026 World Cup semi-final against Spain.

Saliba had left the pitch after only about 30 minutes from the start of the match, which the French national team lost 2-0, as he was unable to complete the game due to a back injury, increasing concerns about his physical condition before the start of the new season.

Reports revealed that Arsenal fears its international defender may be out for a period of between 4 and 5 months.

For its part, the French newspaper L'Équipe revealed on Wednesday that the English club has reached an agreement with its French defender regarding the treatment method.

Arsenal, in agreement with the France defender, decided to opt for conservative treatment instead of surgery.

The 25-year-old center-back will undergo a long period of treatment and rest to alleviate the chronic back pain he suffers from.

While the duration of his absence is still uncertain and depends on his recovery progress, it is expected to last for several months. This is a strong blow to both Arsenal and the French national team.
