Saudi Green Hand Qualifies for Asian Quarterfinals
The Saudi Arabian under-20 handball team qualified for the quarterfinals of the 19th Asian Championship currently underway in China, after achieving its third consecutive victory, defeating Chinese Taipei 46-29 on Sunday in the group stage. Abdullah Al-Saadoun, a Saudi player, was awarded the best player of the match, according to the Saudi Handball Federation on its X account. The Green Hand will face the host Chinese team on Monday at 9:00 a.m. Mecca time in a match aiming to continue its victories and maintain the lead. The tournament features 12 Asian teams divided into two groups, with the top four from each group advancing to the quarterfinals before the competition for the title continues, while the top four teams in the championship earn qualification tickets to the 2027 World Youth Handball Championship.
