The Saudi men's national volleyball team concluded its participation in the second West Asia Championship in Muscat, the capital of Oman, in fifth place after defeating its Syrian counterpart 3-0 on Monday. According to the Saudi Volleyball Federation's account on platform 'X', the Green team decided the match against Syria with sets 25-20, 25-16, and 28-26. The Saudi team lost its first match against Iraq 1-3, then beat Oman 'the host' 3-2 before winning against Lebanon 3-1 in the group stage. The tournament was played as a single round-robin in each group, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals to compete for the title. The squad of Spanish coach Fernando Munoz included 14 players: Fawaz Al-Yami, Waleed Al-Otaibi, Abdullah Al-Khalfan, Ahmed Al-Murait, Muwaffaq Al-Mutairi, Badr Al-Awami, Rashad Abu Al-Khair, Hussein Al-Murait, Marwan Hawsawi, Hassan Al-Waqlan, Qusay Al-Abdulbaqi, Ali Al-Kaabi, Mohammed Adel, and Hamoud Al-Ghamdi.
